How does licensing work in OpExpert Unlimited?

How does licensing work in OpExpert Basic?
OpExpert Basic is absolutely FREE. There is a limit on the number of monitored devices, log devices, Inventory devices, NetFlow interfaces and helpdesk users. Please see Licensing & Pricing section on the website for more details.

How many databases can one instance of OpExpert handle?
One instance of OpExpert can aggregate data from only one database.

Can I customize OpExpert?
Absolutely. You can add, remove and rearrange portlets. You can also create new pages, modify views , graphs , graph type and devices you want to view on the pages.

Can OpExpert monitor NetFlow?
Yes, OpExpert can monitor NetFlow traffic data and support currently is available for Netflow version 5.

Which vendors does OpExpert support?
OpExpert includes out-of-the-box monitoring for hundres of vendors and operating systems, including Cisco®, Nortel,Foundry®, Extreme Networks®, Motorola®, Linux, Solaris®, HP-UX®, AIX®, Windows® 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008.

How does OpExpert collect data?
OpExpert collects data for monitoring through ICMP, SNMP, SSH , WMI, Telnet and syslog communication and data collection, OpExpert continuously monitors network health and performance.

What versions of SNMP supported by OpExpert?
SNMP v1, v2c, v3 are supported by OpExpert.

How many objects can you monitor with OpExpert?
Typically you can monitor between 500 and 5000 devices and interfaces with a single polling engine, but this depends on the system hardware and polling frequency.  It also depends on the number of log devices, amount of flow being monitored by OpExpert.

Does OpExpert monitor VMware®?
Yes, OpExpert monitors VMware ESX Servers and guest virtual machine instances. OpExpert cannot monitor VMware ESXi in the same way because ESXi does not support SNMP, however you can leverage OpExpert’s trap server to receive ESXi traps.

Which versions of NetFlow does OpExpert's NetFlow Traffic Analyzer support?
OpExpert NetFlow Traffic Analyzer can collect data from all devices that support NetFlow v5.

How does OpExpert NetFlow Traffic Analyzer work?
Flow-enabled devices, such as routers and switches supporting Netflow v5 provide a wealth of IP-related traffic information. OpExperts Flow Analyzer collects the flows and correlates it into a useable format.

Does OpExpert NetFlow Traffic Analyzer support sFlow®?
No, currently OpExpert Flow analyzer does not support sFlow.

Which port is the default OpExpert NetFlow port?
OpExpert's NetFlow Traffic Analyzer collects all flow traffic on port 3386 by default.

Is there an integration between alerts and tickets in OpExpert?
The tickets and alerts are two separate entities within the product. The existing versions of OpExpert do not allow ticket creation from the alerts.
